Who we are

FinOverview is a financial tools service based in Montréal, Québec. Questions about this policy or your personal information go to our person responsible for the protection of personal information: info@finoverview.com.

What we keep

  • Your account: name, email address, and the identifier Microsoft gives your work account at sign-in.
  • The links to your services: the keys that connect your QuickBooks company, encrypted before they are saved, and which mailbox we may read.
  • A security log: sign-ins, refused sign-ins, and when services are connected or disconnected.

What we don't keep

  • Your QuickBooks figures. The overview is read live from QuickBooks when you open it and is not saved by us.
  • Your emails and attachments. We read the sender, subject, date and attachment names to recognise invoices. We don't save message bodies or files.
  • Anything you type in the loan simulator. It runs entirely in your browser.

Who processes data for us

  • Cloudflare hosts the site and our database, in North America.
  • Microsoft handles sign-in and gives us access to the one mailbox you choose.
  • Intuit provides access to your QuickBooks company.
  • When automatic invoice reading is turned on for your account, invoice documents are sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) to read their fields. We'll tell you before this is enabled.

Cookies

We use one cookie to keep you signed in, and short-lived ones during sign-in and connection. No advertising or tracking cookies.

Keeping and deleting

Sign-in sessions expire after 14 days. If you close your account, we revoke our access to QuickBooks and your mailbox and delete your account and connection records. You can disconnect QuickBooks at any time from your dashboard.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or withdraw your consent, by writing to info@finoverview.com. If you aren't satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec.
